The Order of Life: Being... Doing... Having

In our modern societies, it's common for people to focus on what they want to have or accomplish. They believe that by having certain things or achieving certain goals, they will become someone who is successful or happy. But often this approach leads to a constant state of stress and anxiety. The problem with the traditional approach of focusing on material objects first is that it puts the emphasis on external factors that are often beyond our control. For example, we may want to have a high-paying job or a big house, but these things may not be achievable for everyone due to their current skills/education, or social environment. Furthermore, even if we do achieve them, they may not bring us the happiness and fulfillment we expect. However, there is an alternative way of thinking that can help alleviate this pressure - the concept of Being, Doing, and Having.

The concept of "Being, Doing, Having" suggests a specific order of priorities in life. It emphasizes that true happiness and fulfillment come from who you are, what you do, and what you have, in that order. This means that the most important aspect of your life should be your character, values, and personal growth (Being), followed by your actions and achievements (Doing), and finally your material possessions and external circumstances (Having).

Let's take a closer look at each component of this concept:

Being: Who You Are Matters Most

"Being" refers to the essence of who you are as a person, including your character, values, beliefs, and mindset. It is the foundation upon which everything else in your life is built. When you focus on "Being," you are investing in your personal growth and development, which ultimately shapes your actions and experiences. Being is about who we are at our core, and it is what gives us meaning and purpose in life.

Doing: Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Once you have established a strong foundation of "Being," the next step is to take action in the world. "Doing" refers to the actions you take to achieve your goals, pursue your passions, and make a positive impact on the world. This involves setting goals, making plans, and taking consistent action to bring your vision to life.

When you focus on "Doing," you are actively creating your life experience. You are not simply a passive observer of your circumstances but rather an active participant in shaping your destiny. By taking action, you are demonstrating your commitment to your values and principles.

Having: Possessions Are Not the Key to Happiness

The final aspect of the "Being, Doing, Having" philosophy is "Having." This refers to your material possessions and external circumstances. While having material possessions can certainly add to your quality of life, they are not the key to happiness and fulfillment.

When you focus too much on "Having," you run the risk of becoming materialistic and superficial. You may also become overly attached to your possessions and define your self-worth based on external factors rather than your inner qualities.

When you prioritize your personal growth and development (Being), take action to achieve your goals and pursue your passions (Doing), and maintain a healthy perspective on material possessions and external circumstances (Having), you can create a life of meaning, purpose, and joy. Remember, who you are matters more than what you have, and your actions speak louder than your words. In conclusion, the "Being, Doing, Having" concept suggests that true happiness and fulfillment come from within.
